Julian Salas is a Los Angeles-based recording and mixing engineer, as well as producer. His love for music began at an early age, picking up the guitar at just 9 years old. Throughout his teenage years, Julian continued to pursue his passion by learning multiple instruments and writing songs. In 2017, Julian earned a bachelors degree in music from Cal Poly Pomona, where he discovered his deep interest in audio recording and mixing.

After graduating university, Julian interned at multiple music studios across LA County, quickly learning from dozens of experienced and credited engineers, producers, and songwriters. In 2018, he worked closely with K-pop producer Hyuk Shin (Justin Bieber, EXO, DEAN), where he proved his ability to lead, record, and mix large sessions at a professional level.

In 2019, Julian began his professional career at Golden Impala Recording Studios in Los Angeles, where he became full-time Head Audio Engineer. His contribution was instrumental to the studio’s growth—both creatively and technically. Through countless hours of dedicated work, Julian built a loyal client base and helped elevate the studio's reputation, expanding on its rooms, equipment, and production quality. During this time, he worked with artists such as Lil Keed, BBC, and Terrell Carter.

In 2025, Julian transitioned to freelance work, bringing the same passion and precision to each mix. That same year, he launched Salasounds Studio in Los Angeles, where he currently operates. Though already a credited engineer, Julian sees this as just the beginning of his journey—and he’s excited for the projects ahead.
